Tree of Light
Ceremony of Remembrance
For 16 years, this memorial event has offered individuals and families in the City of Toronto a touching and visible way to remember their loved ones who have died.
The Tree is decorated with clear lights and doves, as well as the names of those we wish to remember, and is kept on display throughout the month of December and
the first week of January. Light is a symbol of hope in many faiths, cultures and traditions. All are welcome to participate in this special event.
WHERE: Toronto City Hall Rotunda, 100 Queen Street West WHEN: Thursday, December 3, 2009 – 6:30pm. Ceremony begins at 7pm.
Donations for the TREE OF LIGHT
Donations of $25.00 or more will be issued tax receipts. Please note that donations do not entitle you to take home a dove, it only provides that a name tag will be placed on the Tree and that when the Tree is taken down in January, the name tags will be sent to you in the mail along with the tax receipt. You can make a donation in the following ways:
Through Canada Helps by clicking on the link DONATE NOW. Please note, that this option will not allow you to purchase doves or stipulate names for name tags. A tax receipt for amount greater than $25.00 will be issued by Canada Helps and send electronically to your email address immediately.

If you want specific name tags for loved ones created you can do this following either points below. Please note that these name tags stay on the Tree at City Hall during the holiday Season and are taken down in January and mailed to you at that time.

If you want to purchase a DOVE to take home with you on the night of the event, you MUST follow either points below. Please note that purchases of doves do not provide Tax Receipts.
